We have attempted to streamline our work and develop a positive response to challenges facing our Youth. In South Africa 41% of the population is below 35 years of age, this clearly indicates the opportunity we have to shape the next generation. The development of the strategic plan is a clear attempt to increase our ability as an organization to improve service delivery and strengthen links with other Stakeholders in the field of youth and development. We aim to lead our youth along the path to becoming responsible citizens, God's conscious and recognizing dignity in hard work and having self respect and respect for others.

The process of streamlining our work is a challenging task when assessed in context of our constraints, lack of finance, staff, access to technological advancements and access to capacity building programmes. This process though, is necessary to anchor on the notion of championing the holistic interest of the youth and achieving our aim of becoming the most effective, coordinated and caring Islamic youth organization in South Africa by 2012, Insha allah.

We have made some important strives towards improving the quality of our programmes and projects. New partnerships and an improved network strategy have facilitated a key objective of WAMY: To ensure the community is included in the process of decision making. We understand this endeavor may take time to flourish. Through our recent efforts in this area however I think it is fair to say WAMY has carved out a role for itself and is increasingly becoming a recognized youth and Dawah representative organization in South Africa .

Our priority for future is to articulate a sense of urgency among the members of staff so as to accelerate growth, improve collaboration and execute our organizational strategic objectives. Time is now to step up and integrate youth issues not as add-ons or last minute attachments but as our main focus.

As we move forward it is our sincere hope that the processes we have taken will be nurtured with the vital sustenance needed for its continuity. Without funding and moral support we will be unable to maintain our current projects, let alone expand or introduce new initiatives.

Our sincere thanks to the donors, volunteers and WAMY team, particularly the executive members without whom much of our work would not be possible. May Allah Ta'ala give us taufiq and accept our little effort, indeed Allah responses.

Indeed 2008 have witnessed some profound developments at WAMY on different levels, most notably the organizational change with complete restructuring and the introduction of the strategic plan 2009 to 2014.

From the onset, I would like to acknowledge the solid foundation at which I take over the organization and would sincere thank Brother Muhammad Amra for the excellent work and leadership. We Wish him every success in his new role and hope we continue to work together insh allah.
