Capacity Building Workshops - Enabling the Da'ee

The first workshop was held in Durban in November 2001 where 67 people participated. The objective of this workshop was to determine skills required in the Dawah sector. This was followed with a national Skills Training Workshop in Durban in March 2002 and this cascaded with 4 Regional Dawah Skills Training Workshop in the different regions. The outcomes from these workshops were very encouraging, strong links have been established and there have been requests from various areas for the WAMY's involvement. The objectives of these workshops were to -

• Introduce WAMY to the local communities
• Provide people to people services
• Promote networking, sharing resources and building relationships among duaat, organisations and communities
• Build partnerships with local communities
• Empower the local community with skills and capacity building programmes.
